K-12 school students, faculty, and staff who successfully complete an AHA Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED.
Heartsaver® First Aid CPR AED course is designed to prepare students to provide CPR and use an automated external defibrillator (AED) in a safe, timely, and effective manner. Heartsaver courses are intended for anyone with little or no medical training who needs a course completion card for job, regulatory (e.g., OSHA), or other requirements. These courses can also be taken by anyone who wants to be prepared for an emergency in any setting.
Upon successful completion of the course, including a CPR and AED skills test, students receive a Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED K12 course completion card that is valid for two years.
The classroom-based course is approximately 3-3.5 hours, with skills testing by an American Heart Association Instructor during the course.
Use of American Heart Association materials in an educational course does not represent course sponsorship by the American Heart Association. Any fees charged for such a course, except for a portion of fees needed for AHA course materials, do not represent income to the Association.
